Roundup: Carney out, no need to panic

To the dismay of the bulk of the pundit class, Mark Carney says he has other climate-related commitments and won’t be running for a seat in the next election. In response, Pierre Poilievre tweeted that Carney is afraid of running because Trudeau will cause a financial meltdown, and Carney will try to blame it on Freeland. It’s just so stupid, and yet this is the state of public discourse in this country.

To be clear, there is no financial meltdown going to happen. Yes, there are challenges that need to be addressed, but let’s be real here.

  1. These ‘toxic work’ stories are getting old. They are always so vague to protect the anonymity, but what I as the reader am do with that. Brave would be putting your name to it and saying what actually happened. Brave would going through all the channels available to these staffers, but a complaint to their union or HR where their boss would have a chance to respond and unlike journalists, they’d have to answer all the questions.

Also, but not for nothing, didn’t JWR have a terrible rep as a boss and have among the highest staff turnover when she was on the frontbench?

    • JWR went through *four* chiefs of staff and refused to relinquish her office after the last election. But she gets to hide behind her designation as “InDiGeNoUs RoYaLtY” to cover for what a self-serving capital-B witch of the west Fraser Institute brat she really is. SNC was a red herring to cover for the fact that she was livid Trudeau sided with Bennett on the Reconciliation file. She won’t rest until she’s burned the whole country down in revenge. Hell hath no fury like a toxic narcissist scorned.

I’m sure the white saviour of Timmins will run to cape for her soon enough just like he did the last go-around. All I want for Christmas, is for all of these drama queen media addicts to SHUT UP.
